Douchebag Musician Award Winner: Elton John

Seriously, this guy just gets on my nerve. No one is messing with him, yet he goes out and says that he’s “disillusioned with fame” in this BBC interview during which he talks smack about Jesus.

Hey Elton, you know what you should do if you’re disillusioned with fame? You should quit giving interviews and shut your yap.

Elton John then proceeds to perpetuate a gay stereotype by saying that Jesus was gay because:

Jesus was “compassionate”, forgiving and “understood human problems” – BBC Interview

Obviously, because Jesus was all that, then Jesus must’ve been gay. There’s no other possible explanation, according to the Douchebag Award winner.

On the other hand, I do have to say, that I loved the retort issued by the spokesperson for The Church of England:

“insights into aspects of the historic person of Jesus are perhaps best left to the academics” – BBC Interview

Well said Mr. Spokesman, well said.

So, for continuing to perpetuate homophobic stereotypes, and for talking smack about Jesus, The award winner for Douchebag Musician is Elton John.

Douchebag award: Ex-NY police chief Bernard Kerik

News of this guy’s fall came to me via the BBC. Apparently, Rudy G wasn’t the only person that personally benefited from 9/11. Nevermind that in an apparent case of douchebag amnesia Rudy G now claims that there has never been a terrorist attack on US soil. sidenote: maybe Rudy had a mental lapse and some of those conspiracy theorists are right about how 9/11 went down…

Kerik was a bigger douchebag than Rudy though.

Why do I say that?

According to the BBC, Kerick “lied while being vetted for the post of homeland security chief in 2004.” Wow.

I’m glad that the doors of justice swing both ways.

In any lesser country, Kerick would’ve either been confirmed anyway, or let off with a mild slap on the wrist. Kerick’s conviction reinforces my firmly held belief that despite all the bull we little people have to put up with, this is indeed the greatest country in the world.

What were Kerik’s crimes exactly?

“Kerik admitted accepting a $250,000 payback in the form of house renovations from a company to which he gave a city contract”

“He also admitted tax crimes including failing to report more than $500,000 in taxable income between 1999 and 2004.”

To me, the worst part about this whole fiasco, is that Kerik swore to uphold the law. All the while, he’s breaking it. I wonder how many people should or could have their criminal cases re-opened because this douchebag is obviously a lying sack of cow manure?

After all, Kerik has the cojones to lie when he’s going to be vetted for a position of that high profile, who’s to say he didn’t lie or manufacture “evidence” that was used against people he didn’t like?

Kerik is a disgrace to every single honest officer of the law in this country. I hope his downfall serves as a wake up call to all the not honest officers of the law as well.

So, for cheating on his taxes, for getting kickbacks on contracts, and for lying to the vetting commission, Bernard Kerik is a Douchebag award winner.

Political Douchebag Award Winner: Sarah Palin

Yeah, that’s right, I said it.

You know why she wins an award?

For being a flip flopper.

When she called for the resignation of Rahm Emanuel, a White House staffer, for saying that some conservative democrats were “retarded” because of their position on the health care bill, I felt like her call for the guy’s resignation was a bit harsh but I actually agreed with her.

I know, the shame, the shame.

I agreed with her because I felt that her saying that the way Emmanuel used the word as a “slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities” was correct. I didn’t agree that the guy needed to resign, but I agree that he could’ve used a different word. Fast forward a couple of days, and a Rick Perry (Rep. Texas Governor) aide uses the word in reference to a campaign event.

She’s a little upset, but they guy doesn’t need to resign or anything like that. Ana apology will do.

Fast forward a couple more days, and Rush Limbaugh uses the word in reference to a meeting that’s scheduled at the White House to talk about mental health and developmental disabilities. Now it’s suddenly OK for people to use the word in that fashion.

Maybe it’s only OK for Rush Limbaugh to use the word like that.

Eventhough he claims he never said it, here’s the clip where Limbaugh says there’s going to be a retard summit at the White House.

Maybe we should ask Palin’s son Trig, who has down syndrome, how he feels about Limbaugh saying that.

So, for flip flopping on this issue, I declare Sarah Palin Political Douchebag Award Winner.
